Mackenzie's passion for motorsports began in 2014 at the Waterloo Regional Kart Club. He was awarded both the 2014 Rookie of the Year and the 2015 Most Sportsman-like driver title during his time at the club. He was 11 years old when he attended his first national event, the Canadian Karting Championships in 2015.

During Mackenzie’s 6 years of competition, he has accumulated results that rank him as one of Canada’s best professional prospects. His goal for 2021/22 is to compete full time in open-wheel cars by the time he is 18 years old.

Currently, Mackenzie is continuing his honor-role success in school. He is focused on becoming a motorsports engineer, along with his path to becoming a real and virtual pro racing driver.
